ServYou ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 ("POPIA"). By using the ServYou Platform you consent to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email, mobile number, password, profile photo.
• Booking information: service address, scope of work, scheduling, notes and photos you upload.
• Payment information: processed by our payment partners; we do not store full card details on our servers.
• Device & usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, log data, approximate location.
• Communications: in-app messages, support tickets and reviews.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To match Customers and Pros and facilitate bookings.
• To process payments and prevent fraud.
• To send service notifications, updates and (with your consent) marketing.
• To improve the Platform, troubleshoot issues and develop new features.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing With Pros

When you book a service, we share the information necessary to deliver the booking with the Pro — for example your name, contact details, address and job description. Pros are required to handle this information responsibly and only for the purpose of completing the booking.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with trusted third parties for hosting, payment processing, analytics, mapping, customer support, SMS and email delivery. These providers may only process your information on our instructions and in line with this Policy.

5. Marketing

We may send you news, offers and product updates by email, SMS or push notification. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails, by adjusting your notification settings, or by contacting us.

6. Your POPIA Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

9. Cookies

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and measure performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Platform may not work correctly.

10. Children

ServYou is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cross-Border Transfers

Your information may be processed by service providers located outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection in line with POPIA.

12. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on the Platform with the effective date shown at the top.
